Quality Worship

James 3:9-11 - With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?

In this passage we see James give us a metric by which to measure the quality of our praise. Note James including all of humanity in the category that should be praised, and not cursed. He draws an equivalency between what we say about God and humans! Given that Christ is all and in all (Colossians 3:11) and we've been made perfect through our union with him, it makes sense that we should not curse another human.

So - what do you say about humanity?
